The Berlin-based company is presenting its latest development in dynamic pipe engravers to invited customers: a machine for marking of plastic tubes in continuous motion, easy and variable to integrate in the production process. So far, it is customary to mark plastics by using embossing wheels. Their handling, however, is inflexible and can only generate a limited range of marks. This is, where the laser technology of BAUER + MÜCK scores. It offers high precision, flexibility, an aesthetically appealing pipe marking regardless of the material and the full opportunity to create machine-readable bar codes. A technique transforming pipes into real information carriers.

In order to produce lettering on a moving piece of work, the control not only leads the laser beam in form of the lettering, but additionally follows the movement of the pipe. It is even possible to adapt the control to a non-constant speed. But BAUER + MÜCK, the Berlin specialist for laser systems, lifts the production of machine-readable markings to a new level. In addition to all kinds of possible texts and symbols, now even logos and graphics, a 40-digit bar code with all relevant information according to ISO standard No. 12176-4 may be applied to the tube. Also, BAUER + MÜCK is able to produce even dynamically adjusted individual marks for each individual meter. In this way, complete pipes or defined sections will obtaine, for example, information on the meter number, the date or time. A dynamically customizable barcode label automatically calculated during the production process can be implemented by the technology of BAUER + MÜCK with extreme precision.

The laser beam is marking tool and medium at the same time. It enables high-quality, durable and tamper-proof labels in the shortest time without any contact and for low costs. It does not wear and it does not consume any colorants. BAUER + MÜCK technology is able to mark a wide range of plastics. It works on uneven surfaces as well. Built-in features of the Windows-based software calculate the correct position of the laser and transfer the designated patterns on all surfaces. For example, spherical or cylindrical structures are conceivable.
