Wuhan, Hubei Province, China., November 18, 2011 -- November 9, 2011, Adobe, the world’s leading flash company, announces the news on their official blog of stop developing flash player on mobile platform, and will concentrate on HTML5. The news was considered as the strategic shift of Adobe and will promote HTML5 development.

In front of the rapid development of HTML5 on mobile platform, Flash is considered as lack of user experience and weak of safety; meanwhile HTML5 has advantages that make it more suitable on mobile platform. Under such circumstances, Adobe decides to shift their strategy.

“HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively. This makes HTML5 the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms.”

“We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. We will of course continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations.” Stated by Adobe official blog.

Adobe’s decision is considered to promote the HTML5 development, because for those who have used to Flash, they are going to change Flash to HTML5 version on mobile platform. Gartner’s analyst Ray Valdes said “Not only Adobe change the way, all the internet based enterprises like Microsoft, Google and Facebook are doing the same thing. The trend will gradually form, which will develop into the final result.”

This change requires the professional tools like Flash to HTML5 Online to convert flash to HTML5 format. The converted animation can be directly applied on mobile platform without any plug-ins or installations.

Adobe’s strategy is the result of market development, which brings profound impact in the field. On a macrographic perspective, it is good news for all sides. Just as Adobe said “We are excited about this, and will continue our work with key players in the HTML community, including Google, Apple, Microsoft and RIM, to drive HTML5 innovation they can use to advance their mobile browsers.”
