What House? Awards Celebrates 30 Years of Recognition for UK

A large awards ceremony for the UK construction industry’s top companies and organisations is taking place in London on Friday November 18th and is celebrating its 30th year of recognising UK house builders.

The annual What House? Awards are being held at the Grosvenor Park Hotel ballroom in London and recognise the highest standards and innovations in house building of new homes during 2011. There are a total of 21 categories that recognise all aspects of house building, including the Best House Builder, Best House, Best Interior Design, Best Development and Best Starter Home.

The awards also recognise sustainable house builders with the Sustainable Developer of the Year award that judges sustainability and environmental criteria such as energy saving appliances, low carbon initiatives and sustainability in the community. The Best Brownfield Development award is also given to recognise developers who achieve inner city and urban renewal and regeneration either by regenerating existing housing stock or regeneration derelict Brownfield urban sites.

The What House? Awards are the longest established construction awards in the UK. The annual event is regarded as a prestigious event in the construction industry year and it is attended by over 1000 key industry figures from the property and construction industry. Every year a top UK comedian hosts the awards ceremony. This year’s event will be hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis of BBC’s "Mock the Week."
