Press release from: TELES AG Informationstechnologien

Berlin, Germany – November 17, 2011. The TELES MobileControl mobility solution is now available in conjunction with the TELES C5 Application Server. TELES MobileControl brings the PBX extension to the smartphone and makes for more efficient communications with an integrated one-number concept. This solution consists of an user-optimized fixed mobile convergence (FMC) application for the iOS and Android operating systems along with a free license for the TELES C5 Application Server. Network operators are using the TELES C5 Application Server to replace classic local switching centers with next generation network (NGN) technology. The Application Server also provides hosted PBX, unified communications and FMC solutions. Large companies are deploying the TELES C5 Application Server as their communications system.

Easy-to-use FMC application
“The TELES MobileControl app is straightforward and easy to use”, said Frank Paetsch, Chief Technology Officer at TELES. “Forwarding of the office phone, parallel ringing and one-number settings are a snap to configure from the
mobile phone. The TELES MobileControl app has a very intuitive user interface for all of these functions.” The application also provides access to all of the address books on the TELES C5 Application Server and the mobile phone including a comprehensive search tool. The personal language box provided by the C5 solution can be queried from the mobile phone at the touch of a button. TELES MobileControl does not require a continuous and resource-hungry data connection. The TELES MobileControl application is now available in versions for iOS and Android with free downloads from the different app stores.

Routing via the C5 Application Server
TELES MobileControl routes all calls from the mobile phone using call back via the TELES C5 Application Server. This allows more economical fixed-network rates for mobile calls, generating a significant decrease in call charges and especially roaming costs. Moreover, the subscriber appears to be using a consistent fixed-network number when calling from the mobile phone and can also be reached on the mobile via this fixed-network number. “TELES MobileControl turns a mobile phone into an integrated extension using the one-number concept”, added Frank Paetsch. “It is easy for network operators to market TELES MobileControl. No modifications are required in the mobile radio networks and the software works with the popular iOS and Android operating systems. Network operators can please their customers with this added value at minimal cost.” TELES MobileControl can be activated on the TELES C5 Application Server starting with version 3.9. No additional license fees are required.

Building block in TELES mobility concept
TELES MobileControl is one building block in the TELES mobility concept. This concept also includes TELES MobileLink. TELES MobileLink provides a full range of FMC functionality to users, including call hold, transfers, conferences and WLAN telephony with seamless handover between WLAN and GSM. TELES MobileLink is compatible with the iOS, Android, Blackberry and Symbian operating systems. “In 2012, we will extend the mobility services to include unified communication (UC) functionality”, noted Frank Paetsch. “This solution will combine all of the different communications capabilities in a single user interface, including mobility clients, CTI and collaboration solutions.”
