SGS Serbia opens New Furniture Capabilities

The global leader in chemical testing and certification services SGS has opened a new furniture laboratory in Serbia in light of increased demand for furniture testing services. The new laboratory opened in Beograd in June 2011.

SGS offers customized solutions to assist manufacturers in ensuring global furniture safety throughout the supply chain from the conceptual design to the delivery of the product in the store.

SGS Serbia has achieved accreditation for tests covering furniture that includes seating, storage, and stools and tables for pre-school and school institutions. The tests that are now accredited encompass testing for stability, durability, surface resistibility, quality of materials, and correctness of workmanship.

The new laboratory in Serbia adds to the SGS global network of furniture laboratories (http://www.sgs.com/furniture) covering Europe, Asia and the Americas. SGS is pleased to offer its clients a full and comprehensive range of testing services, available globally, including chemical, fabric and flammability tests, and in addition, SGS also offers value added services that include certification, audit and inspection services. Certification includes the GS Mark and CARB amongst others.
