Flexible new subscription models launched by CAD in cloud provider designairspace

Cloud-based CAD provider designairspace today launched two flexible new plans which give designers more ways of using CAD software remotely. The plans (Casual and Part-time), are designed to suit the needs of different kinds of designers. Each plan offers new pricing options depending on how many hours the customer needs designairspace's virtual machines each month.

desingairspace introduced the new plans based on feedback from existing users. Some of the company's customers only needed to use the service for a few hours per month, while others need it full time. The launch of the new plans will mean that the technology can now meet the needs of the widest number of designers.

Each plan offers varying levels of monthly usage: casual (36 hours/month), part-time (88 hours/month) or full-time (over 88 hours/month).

All the designairspace virtual machines use NVIDIA's latest GPU technology, and offer different levels of power and RAM:

o Standard: From $16/Month. 8 GB RAM, vCPU 2.
o Advanced: From $24/month. 16 GB RAM, vCPU 4.
o Professional: From $36/month. 32 GB RAM, vCPU 8.

This variety gives designers greater flexibility to find a plan that suits them. For example:

o A project management student who occasionally needs access to design files for reviews might choose the standard plan with casual usage - giving them up to 36 hours of remote CAD software each month.
o An office worker who occasionally wishes to work from home might choose the advanced plan and choose the part-time option, giving them up to 88 hours of access per month.
o A freelance designer who works on large projects might choose the professional plan with full-time hours option, giving them unlimited access to high-quality computing.

A spokesman for designairspace said: "We regularly receive enquiries from existing and prospective customers about whether designairspace subscriptions could be customised to their requirements. We decided to introduce this new pricing model to allow people to choose the subscription that fits them best".

The spokesman added that "there are so many different kinds of designers out there who have such different needs when it comes to remote working that one blanket pricing model just doesn't work for them. We hope that by providing different levels of computing power and different time limits on usage, everyone can find a designairspace subscription that suits them".
