Nuremberg, Germany, 14 November 2011 – EXASOL AG has acquired SponsorPay as a new EXACloud customer. The relational database EXASolution will be made available over the cloud for the Software as a Service (SaaS) product range, and users will be able to access this high-performance database directly using BI (business intelligence) and ETL (extract, transform and load) tools. This resource-saving access to the EXASOL database management solution makes it possible for companies to manage their data with a particularly high degree of efficiency and flexibility while continuing to reduce the total cost of ownership.

SponsorPay is the European market leader in the field of virtual currency monetisation for online games, social media applications, virtual worlds and social networking sites. The company designs and develops targeted advertising offers that give users free access to virtual currency or premium features through participation.

SponsorPay needs an efficient data warehouse management solution for the analyses that underlie the offers. Because the originally installed open source solution was not designed for further growth, IT decision makers at SponsorPay sought alternatives. After proof of concept, the company decided to go with EXASolution in the cloud. The SaaS model meets the highest security standards and allows flexible access to the database. This is how it is possible to carry out ad-hoc analysis of large amounts of data, among other things. In addition to product characteristics, which are based on high performance database in-memory technology, there was also intensive support, including support during the trial period, that proved to be a critical factor in the decision
