Smartcard for microSD Handy attracts international interest

NUREMBERG, 1st Mai 2007 – IICS GmbH, a Nuremberg company specialising in mobile phone solutions and security has attracted international interest with its product innovations. The supplier of the worldwide unique certgate microSD card with built-in Smart Card module and flash memory delivers the highest possible security based on a chip card for mobile applications on PDAs and Smartphones. At present there are approximately 100 projects running with customers of IICS and its CEO, Dr Paschalis Papagrigoriou, is flying high due to the most recent awards for his latest innovation.

This can be used worldwide and is totally secure. The certgate Smart Card microSD fulfills the highest security requirements of mobile applications. "Our product is a mini Smart Card reader with Smart Card in the microSD memory card form factor. It's therefore a combination of security and memory function - the perfect replacement for plastic cards with cryptochips found in wallets up to now", explained IICS CEO Dr Paschalis Papagrigoriou.

THE solution for the future

"With the data security officer continually breathing down their necks, company management balked from allowing their staff to carry out security critical operations on PDAs." continued the CEO and IT consultant. "Nothing is really secure, neither the login process, nor the User ID and PIN." The solution for the future is the certgate Smart Card. It conveniently disappears in a handheld, is unbelievably easy to use and so complies with all tangible security requirements.

"Absolutely sophisticated!" according to the jury of this year's CeBIT. By winning the "Best of CeBIT" award IICS joined the list of prominent names such as Siemens, Cisco, T-Systems and Arcor. Papagrigoriou: "We couldn't wish to be in better company." The technical magazine TeleTalk singled out IICS GmbH's certgate Smart Card in the "mobile solutions" category.

The company also did very well in the recent North Bavarian Business Plan Competition. In phase II of the competition for companies with a promising future, IICS particularly impressed the jury with its powers of innovation.
