ENovate Biolife reports encouraging results for their Rhinitis Product
ENovate Biolife, a specialty healthcare company, announced new data showing how the company’s lead investigational product E-RH-06 will work for the metabolic management of chronic or recurrent, non-infective nasal congestion with-or-without rhinorrhea.Acute or chronic inflammation of nasal mucous membrane is a hallmark of rhinitis, which may be caused by viruses, bacteria or irritants. The inflammation results in the generation of excessive amounts of mucus, nasal congestion, sneezing and itchiness of nose, throat, eyes, and ears. The key pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-, IL-6, IL-8, IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and GMCSF) play pivotal role in development of the inflammatory milieu in rhinitis.
The present in-vitro study utilized Human nasal epithelial cell line and Human airway epithelium cell line to elucidate the anti-rhinitic potential of E-RH-06 by assessing the modulation in key pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6 & IL-8). The E-RH-06 results reflected decline in the levels of key pro-inflammatory markers IL-6 & IL-8 being at par with Loratidine.
E-RH-06 is firstly being developed for metabolic management of Rhinitis (allergic or non allergic), which is among the most worldwide prevalent clinical problem. Many of the available therapies focus on symptomatic relief or have questionable abuse liability, creating need in this market, which ENovate Biolife is working to meet.
