Git client Tower launches free version for education
Git-Client Tower
With Git becoming the de facto standard for version control, the move will help the next generation of developers to become proficient in working with Git. Lecturers receive both the software and learning material in order to teach Git and support their students.
The free license gives access to Tower Pro and its full feature set. The license is cross-platform and can be used on both macOS and Windows. Tower Pro otherwise costs $99 per user/year.
Students can request their free license on the following site: www.git-tower.com/students.
Teachers, staff and educational institutions can apply for free licenses using the following form: www.git-tower.com/education.
While students and teachers get access to Tower Pro, schools and universities receive free accounts for Tower's Enterprise version. The school offering includes bootcamps and online coding schools.
