FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE:

Friday, February 26, 2020

Long Beach, California - Feb. 26, 2020 - The Clarissa Manuel Foundation is a public non-profit institution focused on preventing the further deterioration of the community through educational and enrichment programs. The foundation is named in honor of Clarissa Manuel (1952-2009) who is a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a Silver Life Member of the NAACP.

The Clarissa Manuel Foundation mission is to support, empower and enrich the community through educational and enlightening programs. The Foundation focuses on three areas to attain these goals;

o Educational Academic Awareness
o Financial Independence
o Physical & Mental Well-Being

By focusing on these areas, the foundation will provide tools for the community to thrive in perhaps three of the most important parts of life: knowledge, finance and health. An educated community strives to create and build. A financially independent community creates wealth for itself and grows. A healthy community doesn't create a burden on itself or society as a whole.

The Clarissa Manuel Foundation is excited to expand on the Educational Academic Awareness component by introducing a new youth program called Young Cultivated Minds of the Future (YCMF).

YCMF is a program initiative created for youth in our community ages 11-18, under the theme Building a Solid Foundation for the Future. This program will provide youth with opportunities that promote personal growth and academic achievement through participating in various activities and workshops. The activities and workshops will be geared towards continuous learning and strengthening interpersonal skills all while brightening the future of our community. YCMF participants will be engaged in a plethora of activities and lessons focused on mathematics and sciences, technology, team building, leadership skills, and everyday social skills and etiquette. YCMF will provide the youth with the necessary tools and resources to successfully create their own unique space in the world.
