India Semiconductor Association [ISA] announces ‘Technovation Awards 2011 December’

Bangalore, India, October 03, 2011: The India Semiconductor Association (ISA) has announced the ‘Technovation Awards 2011 December’. ISA is the premier industry body for the Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing ESDM sector in India. Scheduled to be presented on the 16th of December 2011, the Technovation Awards seek to recognize and honor India’s most competitive companies across the electronics ecosystem.

ISA is currently inviting nominations from members of the semiconductor, embedded systems and electronics research and development fraternity in India.

The Technovation awards 2011 December are divided into three categories

• Intellectual Property Awards - designed to identify the Intellectual Property created in India and the companies behind them.

• Eco-system Awards - designed to recognize the companies which have taken the business risk to build Eco-system infrastructure in India.

• Individual Awards - Awards to individuals associated with semiconductors

The jury for the Technovation Awards, 2011 December comprises of renowned personalities from industry & academia across the globe. Winning companies will demonstrate their products at ISA Vision Summit, scheduled for February 6 - 7 2012, also in Bangalore.

The Indian semiconductor design industry, consisting of VLSI design, embedded software development and hardware/board design was estimated at US$ 7.5 billion in 2010 and is forecasted to grow at more than 17% every year. The Technovation awards were instituted in 2007, and over the past 5 years have set high standards for innovation in the semiconductor industry. This year's awards, have been constituted with an aim to recognize and honor India’s best individual contributors and organizations that drive the semiconductor and ESDM industry forward, while also providing them with a platform to showcase their achievements and product successes.

With the Technovation Awards, ISA celebrates ‘Excellence in Semiconductors and Electronics’ with an aim to recognize excellence and identify role models in the Indian Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) eco-system. These awards highlight the achievements of India's strong culture of innovation and IP development in R&D, and will help make India among the top 5 destinations for innovation and product development and design” said Mr. PVG Menon, President of ISA.

According to Mr. Ganapathy Subramanian, CEO of Cosmic Circuits, ISA Executive Council Member and Convener of Technovation Awards 2011 December, “Many new products and innovations will be required to fill the gaps in the ESDM value-chain, so that India can achieve the goal of a US$ 400 Billion ESDM market by 2020. The Technovation Awards 2011 December are aimed to showcase the innovation happening in India and individuals who are the driving force behind them. This year, the Technovation Awards have been expanded to include innovations from both Indian branches of multi-national companies, as well as eco-system companies. I expect a large number of companies to participate this year and showcase their innovations.”

The last date for sending completed nomination forms is on October 15, 2011.
