The Beehive Presents Matt Garrison

WHAT: On Thursday, October 6th, 2011, Matt Garrison, a virtuoso bass guitar player from New York State, will be returning to his college town for a special performance on The Beehive’s stage as a part of the ‘Beehive Brooklyn Series.’ Starting at 10:00PM-2:00AM, the audience will have the opportunity to see Matt, in an experimental demonstration of electronic infused drum and bass set. This event is a must see for all music enthusiasts and admirer’s alike.
Labeled the “future of tone,” Garrison was destined to make beautiful music from a young age. The son of Jimmy Garrison (John Coltraine’s bassist), he is highly experienced in the art of music. A graduate from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Garrison went onto earn his stripes in the jazz and blues field throughout a number of performances in which he shared the stage with the likes of Pat Metheny, John Mclaughlin, Steve Coleman, Meshell Ndegeocello, Herbie Hancock and Joni Mitchell. Garrison’s success has prompted the founding of GarrisonJazz Productions. Garrison is now in the process of launching ShapeShifter Lab, located in his hometown and the place in which he currently resides, Brooklyn, NY.
