LVDT Linear Position Sensors Available in Different Housings to Perform in Hostile Chemical, Radiation and Seawater Environments

09-23-2011 11:03 AM CET | Energy & Environment

Press release from: Macro Sensors

Macro Sensors (macrosensors.com) offers its AC-operated LVDTs in different material housings to perform in varying operating environments including those with high and low temperature extremes, radiation exposure, seawater and vacuum pressure conditions.

Standard configurations of Macro Sensorsโ€™ AC-operated linear position sensors are constructed of stainless steel with hermetically sealed electronics that enable reliable performance in environments with high temperatures (400ยฐF) or mild radiation exposure. Users can also choose among other optional material housings including:

- Inconel 718 that provides greater pressure and chemical resistance so sensors can perform reliably under very hostile chemical conditions, even in seawater and corrosive acids.

- Monel 400, a special nickel-based alloy that provides excellent resistance against pitting and attack by micro organism, enabling sensors to perform in shallow and warm waters with high levels of oxygen.

- Titanium and hastelloy housings that offer greater resistance to pressure and corrosion when measurements must be obtained in seawater depths down to 7500 ft. and with an external pressure of approximately 3800psi.

For complete specifications and schematic drawings on Macro Sensors AC-operated linear position sensors, go to the web site at: http://www.macrosensors.com/separate_core_lvdts.html . For information on pricing, please contact the factory at postionsensors@macrosensors.com .

About Macro Sensors
Macro Sensorsโ€™ extensive line of linear and rotary sensors are used for position measurement and feedback in a variety of industrial applications including factory automation, motion control systems, metal fabricating, automotive assembly as well as power plants, gas/steam turbines. Incorporated in 1994, the
Company offers more than 200 years of cumulative design and manufacturing experience by its key staff in serving its OEM and end-user international customer base. On June 1, 2005, Macro Sensors was acquired by AST, manufacturer of state-of-the-art (Micro Electro Mechanical Structures) MEMS-based pressure sensors, transducers, and transmitters. Common applications of AST sensor products are in industrial OEM, hydraulic systems, fuel cells, medical gases, HVAC/R, refrigeration, oil & gas exploration/production, and off-road vehicles.
