SMTP to SMS Launched by TM4B

The TM4B Bulk SMS Gateway has announced the 'beta' launch of its new SMS API that provides web developers and software programmers with greater functionality and improved connectivity, including the use of SMTP as an acceptable protocol for server to server communications.

For those that don't know, the SMS API ( application programming interface ) is the means through which web sites, software and databases etc. are able to send and receive SMS messages by integrating with the TM4B Bulk SMS Gateway.

According to Abdul Majid, Marketing Director of TM4B, "The most important element of the new API is the inclusion of SMTP ( Simple Mail Transfer Protocol ) as a means of communicating with our API."

"Although our Email-to-SMS service was, and still is, aimed at organisations that use email clients such as MS Outlook to send and receive SMS, we found that many of our clients have been using it for web site and software integration instead."

Furthermore, according to Abu Aaminah, a technical engineer from TM4B, "It sometimes occurs that users, for one reason or another, cannot send or receive an http request. Up until now, such users could not integrate with our gateway and were left unable to take advantage of the numerous benefits that our messaging platform provides. With the new version of our SMS API, such customers should now be able to integrate without a problem."

Abu Aaminah added, "We are releasing the new version of the SMS API in 'beta' so as to get feedback from our customers before it is finally released."
