EnOcean STM 310 Series

EnOcean STM 310 Series

San Ramon (California), 22 September 2011 – The EnOcean Alliance, together with supporting partners Alpha Micro, Distech Controls, EnOcean GmbH, MK Electric and Seamless Sensing, will show an impressive portfolio of wireless products on stand E91 at M&E – The Building Services Event, 11-12 October, London Olympia. Energy harvesting wireless technology has been developed to enable simple integration into OEM end products. In green buildings, integrators can install devices based on EnOcean self-powered wireless sensors quickly and easily, resulting in unique flexibility, zero maintenance, and measurable energy and cost savings.

Energy harvesting wireless technology offers the broadest compatibility with existing technical standards and best industry practice. That, together with a comprehensive programme of training, an extensive portfolio of design and developer kits and development platforms, has created a huge following in a very short time. The EnOcean Alliance now comprises over 200 members companies from 20 different countries.

Sharing the EnOcean Alliance stand are the following partner companies:

Alpha Micro, an independent franchised distributor of electronic components, will display wireless industrial automation solutions from companies including EnOcean, ublox, FTDI, Lantronix and Gainspan. The distributor has extensive expertise in energy management, building management and industrial communications. Its in-house software and hardware engineering group offers a comprehensive technical package ranging from simple application support through to complete, bespoke design.

Distech Controls, designer and manufacturer of building automation and energy management systems, will demonstrate a variety of open control solutions that allow choice, advanced functionality and cost efficiency for engineers, integrators, distributors, OEMs and building owners. Highlights include the company's digital controllers, which are fitted with an EnOcean wireless receiver to allow data from the wireless, batteryless sensors and switches to be sent to an open LonWorks or EC-Net AX web-based, multi-protocol platform.

EnOcean GmbH will be demonstrating its new generation mechanical energy converter and the latest generation STM 310 series of wireless sensor transmitters based on the EnOcean Dolphin chip. The STM 310 family features an integrated energy storage designed to supply the module in periods where no light is available (typically up to four days). Applications include window contacts, temperature and humidity sensors, light sensors, pressure sensors or gas sensors.

EnOcean's UK Director John Corbett will also be hosting a CPD course entitled "Self-Powered Wireless Sensors & Switches for Sustainable Buildings - Considerations for Building Professionals" at 9.30-10.30am on Tuesday 11th October.

MK Electric will be exhibiting its innovative Echo™ range of entirely wireless, batteryless and self-powered switches. MK Electric was the first major UK manufacturer to incorporate EnOcean technology into its Echo switches, enabling total location flexibility in all building environments. The switches are free from the constraints of wiring, which is invaluable for applications where space needs to be re-arranged periodically and where the invasive channeling of walls isn’t permitted.

Seamless Sensing will show wireless energy management products that reduce energy usage and increase occupant comfort. These products allow users to streamline the operational costs of their buildings, meet regulatory compliance, manage operating risks and drive sustainability. All products are fully EnOcean compliant. They are easy and low cost to install and, where possible, operate entirely without batteries making them maintenance-free.
