SlickWear is bringing collaboration to online shopping by partnering with both eco friendly bag designers and a featured non-profit each month. Every bag on slickwear.org is made from eco friendly materials with a varying amount from each purchase, based on the total price of the bag, going towards charity.

SlickWear is embarking on philanthropic ecommerce, but on two fronts instead of one. Their overall mission is to help people “live green” and support a charity with a single purchase. This unified objective helped foster the perfect environment for collaboration and support from both sides. By also having supporters share the bags and featured non-profits on Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks, SlickWear hopes to raise both awareness and capital.

Currently SlickWear features one partner non-profit per month and works with three eco bag designers. In the future, as SlickWear grows, they plan to expand their eco bag selection and offer their customers the ability to choose which partner non-profit they would like their purchase to help support. This will allow people to continually support the efforts of their favorite causes while striving to live a green lifestyle.

For its first month, SlickWear has partnered with The Catalyst Foundation, which helps address the root causes of human trafficking in Vietnam by working collectively with local communities in raising awareness, providing access to education, increasing economic opportunities and generating a sense of empowerment. The Catalyst Foundation community in Vietnam currently helps feed, educate and empower 300 people and has over 1,100 on their waiting list. With funds raised in collaboration with SlickWear, they will be able to increase their capacity and help change more lives.

Later this year, SlickWear hopes to take on a personal initiative and help build a new orphanage in Vellanad, Kerala, India by partnering with Namaste- Wings to Fly.
