Stevens-Henager College's Computer Science Program Now Offered with Social Media Technology Emphasis

But it goes much deeper than that: businesses use social media for marketing their brand name, monitoring growth, building databases, managing projects, and internal collaboration.

With a curriculum that includes courses such as Databases, Internet Commerce, Server Administration, Web Architecture Concepts, Networking, Operating Systems, Programming, Web Design, Mobile Applications Development, Cloud Computing Concepts, and more, this degree prepares students to contend with and capitalize on the advent, success, and continuing growth of social media. Successful graduates of this program may pursue positions including social media developer, software engineer, web developer, computer programmer, network administrator, etc.

Studies conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Association of Colleges and Employers show that network systems and data communications analysts, computer software engineers, and systems software engineers are among the fastest-growing occupations today, in terms of employment rates and salaries; all of these professions require a bachelor's degree in computer science. *Furthermore, the median salary of computer science majors is $63,017, which is the second- highest median salary attributed to any occupation.**

The duration of the program is 36 months, but with Stevens-Henager's FastFlex option, it could be completed in as few as 30 months. Criteria for admission include a high school diploma or an equivalent GED® credential.
