The Naukri Job Speak index for Hyderabad in Jul-11 grew by 17% as compared to the Jul-10 but dips by 11% when compared to the previous month
Hyderabad has witnessed a vibrant employment picture in the first half of 2011. This is primarily because the key job creators of the city, IT- Software and ITES were hiring at a rapid pace. In Jul-11, the job speak index for Hyderabad dipped from 1235 in Jun-11 to 1100 in Jul-11, but on a year on year(YOY) comparison the index moved up by 17%. The year on year growth phenomenon holds true for all the other metros in the country as well.
Other IT hubs of the country, Chennai and Bangalore have also witnessed 6% dip in their indices when compared with the previous month. As the hiring activity in the IT and ITES sectors has seen some slackening this month, all IT centric cities have also been affected adversely.

An in-depth analysis of the job index shows all the major sectors in the city have shown dips in their hiring activity. Barring Telecom, which witnessed an 8% upward movement in the index, IT Software, ITES and Capital goods saw their indices dipping by 11%, 24% and 3% respectively in Jul-11 as compared to Jun-11. However, the three month moving average indices for these sectors does indicate stability.
Mirroring trends of the IT- Software and ITES sector, Software and BPO professionals saw their monthly index dip by 10% and 17% respectively in Jul-11 over Jun-11. The demand for Project Management and Accounts professionals dipped by 5% and 6% respectively when compared with last month.
Thus, on an overall level, the jobs in Hyderabad seem to have stabilized at an elevated level, though Jul -11 has witnessed less number of jobs when compared to Jun-11.
