Another positive aspect of Wordpress is the easy-to-use administration panel. Editing pages and posts are similar to using a word processor.

“SEO with Wordpress is relatively ok; however a lot depends on the template used. Some destroy the code validation and introduce junk scripting,” says Waseem Saddique.

Although a downfall of Wordpress there are sufficient plugins for a good SEO solution.

Tumblr

Tumblr is becoming an increasingly popular choice for business websites. Tumblr is not a CMS, it is a blog platform.

“Compared to wordpress, tumblr has limited functionality but has some great features. Tumbler is a great choice for very basic sites,” advises Waseem Saddique.

Users are able to follow specific Tumblrs and if a company has followers they are able to see updates – a great way to keep in touch with current and potential customers.

Joomla

Joomla is considered the most flexible CMS around and functionality can be changed for a multitude of jobs. Although not considered as user friendly as Wordpress.

Templates are a very strong feature with Joomla – with a great choice that are easy to customise and experiment with.

Having web presence is vital nowadays; it allows businesses to be open to the world 24 hours a day with no extra labour costs. Not only this, the market place is hugely enlarged – it increases prospective customers and generates sales.

In an age where yellow pages are at the back of cupboards and Google is the be all and end all to search engines, ensure that the business – no matter how great or small has a website.
