Exotissimo Travel Introduces Mesmerizing Loikaw, a Tour into Unexplored Eastern Myanmar
The flight from Yangon touches down in Heho, the gateway to Inle Lake. The lake is well-known for its one legged boat rowing fishermen and the unusual site of jumping cats at Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery. Guests will also have the opportunity to integrate with the laid back residents by attending a Shan workshop and visiting a teak monastery.
The Inle Lake journey continues to the far south with a boat trip to Hpe Kom. The village is practically untouched, with the people still practicing their old traditions and ways. The scenery is also impressive, with the Shan mountains providing the background to an already scenic area.
“Myanmar is already quite exotic. Just wait until you come to Inle Lake and Loikaw,” said Anne Cruickshanks, Product & Adventure Manager of Exotissimo Myanmar. “Eyes will open with amazement at the people’s unique lifestyle and the wonderful natural scenery.”
Next is Loikaw, reached after a two hour car ride. A truly unique experience awaits at Demwason Market where a host of spectacularly dressed hilltribe people set about selling their wares. Next, the tour takes an educational twist with a visit to the Kayah State Museum, providing a comprehensive history on the region’s many ethnic groups. The perfect conclusion to the day in Loikaw is a scenic sunset over the town as seen from Taunggwe Pagoda.
