The Beverly Hills Bar Association has the distinction in having the largest entertainment law section in the world. The prestigious "Entertainment Lawyer of the Year" award honors leaders of the entertainment law field, and has been presented since 1989. Previous honorees include Ken Ziffren, Jay Cooper, Tom Hansen, Stanton "Larry" Stein, Melanie Cook, Bruce Ramer, and Frank Rothman, among others.
Mr. Hirsch started a new law firm, Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman in August, 2004, following 25 years as the senior partner in Armstrong and Hirsch, specializing in entertainment law representing many of Hollywood's most prominent acting, directing, writing and producing talents in motion pictures, television, music and the legitimate theater.
Barry earned his J.D. at the University of Southern California, and completed his undergraduate work at the University of California at Los Angeles. In addition to his legal expertise, he obtained an M.A. in behavioral science as a licensed marriage, family and child counselor.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the education and community outreach programs of the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation. Tickets for the BHBA "Entertainment Lawyer of the Year" dinner are $150 per person. Sponsorship packages are available from $2,750 to $25,000, plus Tribute Book ads are priced between $250 and $1500.
