Openismus GmbH Is Founding Member Of The GNOME Mobile And Embedded Initiative
April 19th 2007, Munich, Germany: Openismus GmbH announced today its founding membership of the GNOME Mobile And Embedded Initiative (GMAE).Openismus, a small software consultancy and provider of easy to use Linux applications based in Germany, is a founding member of the new GNOME Mobile and Embedded Initiative revealed today at the Embedded Linux Conference, Santa Clara, USA.
"We are thrilled to be a part of this next stage of the Embedded Linux market," said Murray Cumming, Managing Director of Openismus GmbH, "GMAE offers major opportunities via increased consolidation of our development platform and by allowing coordination around a common schedule, with scope for differentiation where it counts. GMAE can do for embedded devices what GNOME has done for the desktop."
Openismus is currently working with popular brand-name manufacturers of consumer devices as well as medium sized companies working on specialized vertical market applications. These customers are benefiting from open source software of higher quality than proprietary platforms, with far simpler licensing and integration requirements, a wider range of support options, and greater flexibility. GMAE helps Openismus to offer an established development platform, meeting the increasing demand for embedded Linux systems with rich user experiences.
In particular, Openismus is helping customers to use embedded GNOME technologies from C++, the industry's most popular programming environment, with a focus on both performance and achieving ease of use.
