09-01-2011 08:01 AM CET | Science & Education

Press release from: GILDE Detmold

The CSR seminars of the EU-project „InnoTrain CSR“ carried out in the participating countries – UK, Germany, Hungary and Portugal – have been met with great enthusiasm. Already more than 300 persons participated at seminars offered by the European project consortium. Previously, GILDE – Business Development Detmold and the other partner organizations had developed around 80 modules and 4 films on CSR. The comprehensive learning materials are still available free of charge under: www.csr-training.eu.

In the European Union, CSR is on very different stages of development. In order to integrate CSR in vocational education and training, flexible solutions are a must. Rolf Merchel, managing director of GILDE is delighted about the significant success of the use of „InnoTrain CSR“-materials: „The participants represent a cross-section of trainees and CEOs in varying business sectors and countries." The overall positive feedback on „InnoTrain CSR” shows that CSR can be integrated by the whole staff of a company.

The learning material of „InnoTrain CSR“ has been tested and evaluated in the UK in tertiary education at the European College of Business and Management. In Germany, in-house seminars took place in companies. Furthermore, trainers and multipliers have taken part on seminars. „InnoTrain CSR“ has also been integrated in different vocational training in Germany. A special interest from the side of business and politics has been pointed out in Portugal where more than a hundred persons participated in seminars to the four CSR fields of action – working place, market place, environment and community. The project partnership is also delighted about the successful pioneering on CSR seminars in Hungary.

The learning material has been developed under the framework of the EU-Leonardo-da-Vinci-project „InnoTrain CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility in VET (vocational education and training)” by a project consortium lead by GILDE – Business Development Detmold. Partner organizations of „InnoTrain CSR“ are the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the training institution CECOA in Lisbon, the German Association for Employee (financial) Participation (AGP) in Kassel and the German Employee Academy in Dresden.

The comprehensive qualification compendium is available under www.csr-training.eu as a free download in four languages (English, German, Hungarian and Portuguese). The contents can be used in vocational education and training or for self-study even without previous knowledge of CSR. More than 80 modules in 8 chapters cover facts and figures, strategic instruments, CSR fields of action and CSR communication. Furthermore, case studies demonstrate best practice examples of CSR. Many learning modules also include individual practical exercises.

A feature of www.csr-training.eu is the collection of four best-practice videos covering successful CSR in companies. The educational films give an insight into the practical implementation of business responsibility in various companies, business sectors and countries of the European Union.

Service: Institutions and persons interested in providing CSR seminars can ask for project internal seminar plans via e-mail: info@gildezentrum.de. The documents are free of charge and include suggestions for InnoTrain modules and time tables to provide a short seminar on introducing CSR as well as a one-day-seminar for CSR in small and medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
