Technology Review
Ultrasound systems use the transmission high-frequency vibratory pressure waves (sound) in tissue to deliver mechanical and thermal therapeutic effect. The mechanical properties of tissues as well as their distance from the source of the sound differentially affect the propagation of the energy of the ultrasound waves. Tissue containing more fluids have a faster penetration coefficient versus to bones areas will do reflection of the sound waves.
The sound waves are generated by the conversion of electric energy into mechanical energy by gold piezoelectric crystals, which change shape in an electric field. The dimensional change causes pressure waves that will design the Focal beams shape in 3D.
The Sygmalift spatula transducer is shaped to allow focusing from 2 to 5 millimeters deep as well as sequentially timed to "steer" the ultrasonic beam in a 3 D. Uniquely it takes into mathematically consideration the tissue property in the cheeks and the double chin area.
The software assists the physicians to select the right power from Green to Red level according to the protocol.
