Press release from: Avia Solutions Group

FL Technics Ulyanovsk, a complex aircraft technical support and maintenance services provider, has announced a further expansion of its services’ network. On the 17th of August 2011 FL Technics Ulyanovsk was granted a residence certificate for operating within the free economic zone in Ulyanovsk, Russia. The certificate was presented by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina. The new construction of a hangar complex of FL Technics Ulyanovsk will be situated in the aviation cluster in Ulyanovsk.

According to the newly signed contract, by 2018 the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airport will have been introduced a brand new hangar complex consisting of two 5000 sq.m. and one 6400 sq.m. sections. FL Technics Ulyanovsk is to erect the first hangar by 2013, the second – by 2015, and the third – by 2017. The first one is expected to start operating and providing aircraft technical support and maintenance services as early as in the beginning of 2014. The new complex shall be designed for short and medium range Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier CRJ, Embraer, Sukhoi Superjet and other types of aircraft.

‘Entering the Russian market has long been one of our strategic objectives. We are one of the most experienced aircraft technical support and maintenance companies in Eastern Europe therefore it is highly important that we remain in a close proximity to this particular market and our clients. Furthermore, this will allow us to stay high in the competition and secure the leadership position in the region that is expected to be among the fastest emerging markets for several decades to come.’, - commented the CEO of FL Technics Jonas Butautis. He went on saying that Ulyanovsk was an exceptionally attractive aviation services’ centre known for its highly ambitious strategy, broad infrastructure and healthy business environment granted by local authorities.

All the required documentation needed for the implementation of the project valued at more than USD 18 million is already prepared and, according to J.Butautis, the company is set to create up to 500 new workplaces for highly skilled technicians, engineers and administration personnel. Many more new workplaces will be introduced in the construction process as well. All new managers and technical staff will be trained by the highly skilled FL Technics experts in Vilnius. ‘One of our main objectives is to maintain a highly competitive world-class aviation technical support and maintenance service facility in Russia. And now that we can see it being implemented we can look into the future with an increased confidence and a list of other no less ambitious plans.’, - said J.Butautis.

The Letter of Intent between FLT Trading House owning FL Technics Ulyanovsk and the Governor of Ulyanovsk region Morozov Sergey Ivanovich was signed at the aviation show Paris Air Show 2011 in Paris, France in June earlier this year.
