Financials Expert Shows How to Use SAP’s Enhanced BKPF Table for VAT Liability-Based Reporting.

SAPexperts announces a new article, “Use SAP’s Enhanced BKPF Table for VAT Liability-Based Reporting” posted to its Financials Expert knowledgebase.”

The article explains how to prepare reports based on value-added tax (VAT) liability dates. In some European countries the legal restrictions have tightened. Normally in the standard SAP system (VAT) reporting is based on the posting date. However to comply with legal requirements in those countries the reporting must be based on the date the VAT liability arises.

SAP has added a new field to the financial document table BKPF to the system. This field makes it possible to use the tax reporting date with the addition of the VAT date to determine the currency rate to be applied.
