We are delighted to have Baerte de Brey who is the Chief International Officer at ElaadNL to be a part of our Expert Panel and as one of our esteemed speakers at the Expo. ElaadNL is the knowledge and innovation Centre in the field of (smart) charging infrastructure and is owned by the Dutch DSOs. Baerte is responsible for analyzing the long-term effect of electric mobility on the electricity grids at ElaadNL. He helps building a sustainable business case around this transition. This includes vehicle2grids, EVstorage and customer behavior research. He graduated from Leiden University in 20 01 with a law degree and received an MBA from Nyenrode Business University in 2006. As an expert for the International Energy Agency and the European Commission he sometimes reviews collective European programs concerning EV interoperability and smart charging. In his spare time, he is an elected member of the Provincial Council of Utrecht.
ElaadNL possesses an expertise in the field of smart charging infrastructure across Netherlands. The grid operators in Netherlands, along with their mutual involvement with ElaadNL, are preparing for a future that will accommodate smart charging and sustainable charging. ElaadNL aims to ensure that everyone charges smart. They keep a track of the EV Charging Infrastructure and coordinate connections between public charging stations and the electricity grid operators. They started their operations in 2009 and have now established a network of more than 3,000 public charging stations for EVs across Netherlands. ElaadNL has partnered with the united grid operators who manage the Dutch grid of electricity and gas. By working together with ElaadNL, the grid operators combine knowledge and funds to research the possibilities for smart charging of electric cars.
