Crown BMW of Greensboro Sponsors Golfers Against Cancer
Greensboro, NC – Crown BMW, a prestigious BMW dealership in Greensboro, North Carolina, is sponsoring Golfers Against Cancer, a national charitable organization that raises funds for cancer research.
Part of the sponsorship will be used to support the annual Triad Dinner for Cancer Research that Golfers Against Cancer will host on September 18, 2011. The dinner and associated golf outing will raise funds for cancer research at local universities including East Carolina, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Forest.
About Golfers Against Cancer
Golfers Against Cancer (GAC) is a national charitable organization that was founded in 1997 by a group of Houston golfers who lost several of their close friends to cancer. Motivated to raise money to fund cancer research, they created an annual golf tournament and dinner in Houston. Since that time, the organization has expanded to include chapters in Atlanta, Boston, Greensboro and New York.
The Triad Chapter of GAC was founded in 2005 by Dr. Bruce Lyon and friends. Since its founding, the group has raised more than $1.5 million to support cancer research.
