Bespoke Composite Panels (BCP), the award-winning privately-owned company based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire , is exhibiting at the Composites Engineering Show 2011 being held at the NEC, Birmingham on 9th and 10th November.
BCP, which is celebrating its 23rd year of manufacturing light-weight structural panels and vacuum tables, specialises in the design, development and manufacture of technology based composite structures, and was an early pioneer in the concept of honeycomb core certification testing.
Technical Sales Engineer, Makrand Terkar, believes that their success is down to service. “We always give our customers the best possible service and work to high quality standards. We operate a continuous improvement policy and this has enabled us to be highly competitive in terms of price, quality and innovation across a broad spectrum of engineering requirements.”
BCP work on both regular orders and specific one-off projects. Their team of engineers always look forward to new challenges and pride themselves on their problem solving ability. A close relationship between the design and manufacturing team ensures that their products are of the highest quality and their commitment to research and development in all areas enables them to enhance product design.
“Weight-reducing technologies are critical to the success of new, highly efficient technologies used in various industries,” says Makrand, “We use materials that combine relatively low mass with requisite strength and flexibility.
Close collaboration with the customer at the early stages of product development enables BCP to advise on the best design, material selection and product enhancement. This reduces the cost of tool sampling, product development time and production costs and along with our investment policy in new plant and people, optimises product quality.”
Among BCP’s growing portfolio of customers are Inca, Bombardier, Virgin and Alstom. In the past year BCP has secured a number of major contracts and has seen its order books break records month on month throughout 2010 and 2011. Much of the business during that time has been repeat orders from satisfied existing customers but Makrand Terkar says that “we are gaining new business through one-off samples proving so successful that new customers are placing their main orders with us based on the quality and price of our product and the service that they receive.”
