AutoUniConv converts Chinese texts to Unicode automatically

Herne, Germany, August 8, 2011

As of version 1.1.0 AutoUniConv automatically identifies and converts Chinese texts that are encoded in a Unicode transformation format, Big5 or GB2312.

Lingua-Systems' software library AutoUniConv identifies the character encoding used to store text and automatically converts it to one of the common Unicode transformation formats. The software supports a variety of input character encodings, covering for example many encodings of the Unicode, ISO, Windows, Code Page and Macintosh families. AutoUniConv converts to all common Unicode transformation formats, for example to UTF-8 or UTF-32BE.

In contrast to other character encodings, Unicode allows to encode text of different languages in a unique way. Due to increasing globalization Unicode transformation formats have become the default character encoding in many applications and are of wide-spread use.

AutoUniConv is a C/C++ software library available for both Unix-like (Linux, FreeBSD) and Windows operating systems. It provides a compact and intuitive application programming interface and allows easy integration into other software solutions. AutoUniConv features solid conversion results, high performance and thread-safety. The current version identifies and converts 35 different input character encodings and supports UTF-8, UTF-16 and UTF-32 as output encodings.
