The weekly newsletter of the Socrates Journal ‘The Socratic inquiry’ is offering a one-month unpaid internship program for PhD students and other interested scholars. The Socratic inquiry is the official weekly newsletter of the Journal Socrates. This newsletter is one of the mediums to inform our readers and researchers about the ongoing research activities and progress within our growing network and other networks. This newsletter is being edited by Dr Michelle Blakely, Assistant Editor Journal Section - Political Science, Assistant Professor of Social and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming, USA.

Duration of the internship:
One month Starting from Dec 1, 2019, to Dec 31, 2019

Deadline to apply:
November 20, 2019

The number of vacancies:
Ten (each supervisor will not guide more than two interns).

Internship location:
Selected Interns will work from their own location and institution. The medium of guidance would be through email.

Subjects:
Any stream (preference would be given to applicants from Humanities and Social Science)

Credit:
Verified Certificate

Working language:
English

Activities:
The purpose of this internship is to enable the intern to gain work experience in the practical application of the theoretical knowledge that he or she has already acquired. This is not an agreement of any employment or any employment contract; the key focus of this internship is learning, not working as a regular employee.

During the internship period, the intern will work on the research activities assigned to them by their supervisor. This is a research enhancement program, so the focus would be to enhance the writing and research abilities of the interns.

During the internship period the interns will have to:

Read one research paper every week assigned to them by their supervisor and they will have to write a review article on it. They will have to complete that assignment within that week itself and their work will be evaluated by their supervisor.
Write one news article every week on the information provided by their supervisor. They will have to complete that assignment within that week itself and their work will be evaluated by their supervisor.
Read one book assigned to them by their supervisor during the internship period and write a review article on it. They will have to complete this assignment within their internship period and their work will be evaluated by the supervisor.
The interns will have to Work on other academic tasks assigned to them by their supervisor.

Ensured publications:
The suitable review articles, news articles and book reviews written by interns would be published in the weekly newsletter 'The Socratic inquiry' every week with their name and details.

Intern's eligibility:
The applicant should be well-organized, autonomous and must have a keen interest in research.
Must be enrolled as a PhD candidate enrolled with any institution.
Master's student in public policy, public administration, political sciences, social sciences or other relevant fields of studies with good academic and publication record can also apply.
Must be fluent in English.
The applicants would be free to choose their supervisor from the list of our available supervisors.
If selected for the internship program the intern will have to work under the supervisor they have chosen in the application. They would not be allowed to change the supervisor for the entire program.

Certificate of accomplishment:
Upon completion of the internship program, every successful intern will be provided with an accomplishment certificate duly signed by the Newsletter editor and the concerned supervisor.
