DALLAS – Marcos G. Ronquillo, President and Chief Operating Officer of Dallas-based Godwin Ronquillo PC, has been named to the 2011 Binational Board of Directors of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce.

“The Chamber is one of the largest of its kind and is widely considered to be among the leading binational business organizations in the Americas, so it is an extreme honor to have been invited to join this board,” says Mr. Ronquillo.

Established in 1973, the non-profit United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce is based in Washington, D.C., with 20 offices throughout the United States and Mexico. The bilateral organization was created to promote trade, investment and joint ventures on both sides of the border and to help businesses bridge differences in legal, regulatory and economic systems, as well as language and culture.

“Marcos will be a great addition to our Binational Board of Directors,” says Albert Zapanta, Chamber president and CEO. “He is an accomplished international lawyer who works between the United States and Mexico in a very effective and professional manner.”

Mr. Ronquillo represents both governmental agencies and Fortune 500 companies in high profile litigation. His cross-border work has included the successful defense of a global international luxury hotel chain against high-profile plaintiff attorney's claims for wrongful death in Mexico; serving as counsel to Wall Street investment banking firms regarding energy, construction and infrastructure projects in Latin America and Mexico; serving as counsel to a major U.S.-based foundation and philanthropic trust with assets in Mexico; acting as Counsel to World Cup, Inc. in an international contract dispute in the United States; and successful representation of a Fortune 500 construction company in international arbitration before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution in pursuit of multi-million dollar claims relating to the engineering and construction of a power plant in the United States.

He is a recipient of the American Bar Association's Spirit of Excellence Award, the State Bar of Texas Presidents’ Special Citation Award and the Outstanding Lawyer of the Year Award from the Texas Mexican American Bar Association. He is the former President of the Dallas Mexican American Bar Association and former Chairman of the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The 60 members of the Binational Board represent some of the most respected businesses in the United States and Mexico, including AeroMexico, American Airlines, General Motors, FedEx, Valuations Montana Verde, A.A. de C.V., Naviera Integral, The Coca-Cola Co., The Home Depot and Uranium One Americas.
