Small Business Owners Struggle To Understand How Google Affects Their Online Marketing Efforts

08-01-2011 07:39 AM CET | Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance

Press release from: WorkHorse WebPages

Most small business owners know how to search on Google but have little idea about their own online relationship with Google from a business perspective, the importance of keywords in relation to their website content and online marketing campaigns seems very difficult, if not impossible for many of them to grasp.

The findings are gleaned from conversations with business owners over the past twelve months at the website workhorsewebpages.com.au. According to WorkHorse WebPages principal Dominic Magerl, most business owners are too busy to learn what is seen as a difficult and technical subject, whilst others are simply not interested in how it all works but just want someone to take on this all important aspect of their business.

A lot of business owners spent a long time deciding on the name of their business yet spent little or no time researching keywords, which are absolutely crucial in Google's eyes. A number of people have stated "when I type my business name into Google we are number one on the first page, but when I type in our core product description we are nowhere to be found". The most frustrating thing is that they really don't understand why.

In response, WorkHorse WebPages has announced the Small Business Website Review, an indepth evaluation of their website with an easy to understand report that all business owners will understand, the report also includes some easy to implement recommendations which they can work on to increase visitor numbers to their website. A comprehensive report is also included which can be passed on to whoever provides site maintenance for any changes required.

The purpose of the Small Business Website Review is to bring to website owners attention any on-page and off-page factors affecting performance of their site in the search engines, but more importantly, it gives website owners without a lot of technical knowledge an idea of what needs to be done to improve their site in simple terms and easy to implement recommendations, most of which they can do themselves.
