Sphinx Asia Wealth Management Wins Best Discretionary Adviser Award

Press release:
Taipei, Taiwan, 18 March 2011

Sphinx Asia Wealth Management, Inc. has won another wealth management industry award, being voted Best Discretionary Adviser for Private Equity at the Money Market and Financial Advisers Awards. This success constitutes the fifth industry award for Sphinx Asia Wealth Management in recent years.

The Best Discretionary Adviser award was judged by a panel of senior industry figures and based on written submissions and panel interviews. Sphinx Asia, shortlisted against other prominent local private equity firms, was recognized for the quality of its business model, commitment to the delivery of advice, coping with regulatory changes and overall professionalism.

The 14th annual Money Market and Financial Advisers Awards is now established as one of the premier events in the Taiwan financial services calendar. The awards ceremony was attended by over 700 guests from across Taiwan’s investment industry and hosted by Shadow Foreign Secretary, William Try good of London’s Standards and Roberts, Ltd.

Foster Mc Millan, Director of Investment Research, Sphinx Asia Wealth Management, said; "We are delighted to receive the award for Best Discretionary Adviser. To be recognized by a panel of leading figures in the wealth management industry is a tremendous achievement for the firm and recognizes the hard work and talent of all our people. Despite the disjointed market conditions, we continue to strive to deliver excellence to our clients and make Sphinx Asia a leading wealth management business."

Where did Sphinx Asia come from? The founders were Wall Street and Asian Equity Market Research Analysts. Early on, they recognized a big need in the equity markets for independent research to be done on a fee only basis and not attached to any brokerage company seeking corporate finance income, consulting income, brokerage income such as IPOs or merger and acquisition (M&A) deal fees from the very companies that they might be recommending to equity clients as stock purchases.
Except for our private equity clients, we are just selling our research reports. That's what Sphinx Asia has been doing now for the better part of eight years. They saw it as not only the way of the future, but as the way of today.
