Altair Supports Playoff Advancement Through PSU-LV Athletics Donation

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (October 16, 2019) – Altair Integrated Services is excited to announce support for PSU-LV sports playoffs. The donation will support golf, volleyball, basketball, and soccer sports programs for both men and women as they advance throughout their seasons. The donation will support many aspects of the programs including transportation, meals and lodging for the athletes as they work to win championships.
Altair provides management consulting services and talent placement to the financial services industry and has roots back to PSU-LV. Founder and Managing Partner, Doug Redden, attended the school beginning in 1996, attaining a business degree from the Smeal College of Business.
“We are so grateful to Altair. This money is crucial for our playoff season. Our teams are excellent, and more and more they are qualifying for playoffs. But my standard budget only covers the main seasons. With this funding, we can provide a quality experience for our athletes in playoff season,” said Rich Fatzinger, athletic director, Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Athletics are integral to student development, and I’m glad the firm can support such a great cause” Redden said. “Penn State produces a population of talented students that enter the work force and add value to the companies that hire them. By keeping the talent in the area we can strengthen the local economy. I received my undergraduate and MBA at PSU and we have both interns and executive-level employees at Altair that were also educated there. We are very close to the Lehigh Valley campus and are always looking for local interns and graduated students with business and technology degrees.”
The Penn State Lehigh Valley golf team has won three PSUAC Championships in recent years, including the 2019 championship on Oct. 7. The Penn State Lehigh Valley women’s basketball team had a historic season in 2019. They were the 2019 PSUAC Champions, which is a first in program history. The team finished with a 25 to 3 overall record and won 24 straight games.
All of the Penn State Lehigh Valley teams had student-athletes in the 2018-2019 season who were recognized with All-Conference Athletics Honors and/or Sportsmanship Awards. And more than half of the student-athletes received PSUAC All-Academic Honors earning a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
