Giftapart considering a Series A capital raise
Giftapart founder and CEO Filipe Pedroso with meet with investors in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Filipe Pedroso, the founder and CEO, will be traveling to Silicon Valley to meet with potential investors the week of October 20. “Giftapart had been receiving a few solicitations from investors over the past couple month, and once we had enough meetings to justify my trip, I booked a trip out to the Valley,” said Pedroso, “I’ll be spending the week meeting with a few investors in both San Francisco and the Palo Alto area.”

Board member Jerry D’Ascoli, who invested in both Seed I and Seed II rounds, stated, ”Giftapart is like ecommerce on steroids. It’s amazing what Filipe has done, but it doesn’t surprise me. I’ve know Filipe for over a decade, and this guy is the hardest working person I know. And he doesn’t know how to quit. When I first heard of this project, and more importantly that Filipe was leading it, I jumped right in. I only wish I could have invested more.”
Jeffrey Vanderbeek, prior owner and Chairman of the NJ Devils NHL franchise and The Prudential Center arena in Newark, NJ, and former Managing Partner responsible for Capital Markets at Lehman Bros., invested in Giftapart in its first seed round. Vanderbeek said, “I have known Filipe for about 3 years now and have witnessed his dogged determination coupled with a tremendous work ethic in getting Giftapart to where it is today.”
Current Board members are willing to continue funding the project. D’Ascoli added, “Filipe is an innovator. He has so many other ideas to improve upon ecommerce. I can’t wait to continue seeing this company grow here and abroad. I’m looking for an opportunity to increase my equity, and I know that the Giftapart team is ready, willing and able to continue funding this project. But I support Filipe’s vision and plan to get an investor onboard with additional resources and funding that can really help skyrocket our scale.”
“It’s now about market growth and scaling big,” commented Pedroso, “Our ideal investor is not just someone who throws money at the project, although money helps, but it’s a venture capital firm with resources and a team that compliments us and provides additional tools to expedite our international growth.”
