DIZAIND LAUNCHES A KICKSTARTER CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN FOR THEIR SUSTAINABLE, CUSTOM-MADE BAG AND ACCESSORIES COLLECTION, ALL MADE FROM RECYCLED PLASTIC

DIZAIND wants to support the fashion revolution, fight climate change, and empower diversity in fashion through their new vegan collection of bags and accessories.

Zurich, October 16, 2019 - DIZAIND, the Swiss brand of bespoke bags and accessories, launches a new crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. After four years of creating ethical and sustainable bags, DIZAIND wants to further their commitment to sustainable fashion by introducing an accessories range made from recycled plastic leather.

Making the fashion industry sustainable is a serious and pressing challenge, and the industry’s pollution and resource waste are contributing to climate change. DIZAIND is committed to leaving a clean and beautiful world for future generations, and this is why the brand is investing in a bag and accessories line that is completely vegan. By using this innovative leather, DIZAIND wants to reduce CO2 emissions, support the recycling industry, keep our oceans clean, and ensure that our landfills are manageable. To support the fight against climate change, DIZAIND has also teamed up with the Trillion Tree Campaign, and for each vegan item sold, the brand will plant one tree in an area that needs it.

The vegan leather that DIZAIND will use is made from recycled PET bottles. The leather is created by an Italian manufacturer and is eco-friendly, cruelty-free, solvent-free, and 100% water-based. It is OEKO-TEX certified and BUREAU-VERITAS tested. The vegan leather means decreased energy consumption (-60%), CO2 emissions (-30%), and water waste (-96%). It is also a beautiful, quality product that will last years, enabling consumers to slow their rate of fashion consumption.

Santare Slavinskas, founder and creative director of DIZAIND, is asking for consumers to get involved: “Our suppliers and manufacturers are in place, but now we need your help to bring this project to life.”

This campaign will make DIZAIND the first and only brand offering a customization service for vegan bags and accessories.

DIZAIND allows customers to design and customize their bag on the brand’s virtual 3D design studio on the DIZAIND website. Funds from the Kickstarter campaign will help the company redevelop the necessary design software to ensure that these one-of-a-kind vegan bags and accessories become a reality. The funds will be used also to purchase the material needed to fulfil orders from this campaign and pay the artisans, based in Italy, to handcraft the bags and accessories.

Customers will be able to create their vegan leather bag by choosing from 7 basic models and 23 style variations. They can combine 10 vegan leather colors to create the most modern and sophisticated designs, choose colors for the interior and clasps and zippers, and add their own monogram to the bag. The accessories collection includes a laptop case, toiletry bag, glasses case, and keyring, all of which are also fully customizable. All of the products in the line will be handcrafted in Italy by experienced artisans.
