Press release from: Healthagen

Gretna, LA - (July 25, 2011) - Westbank Urgent Care announced today that they have joined the growing number of medical facilities across the country reaching out to mobile users by launching the iTriage® smartphone application developed by Healthagen, LLC. To access iTriage, consumers can download the free application from the app stores for their iPhone® or Android™ smartphones, or access it through any Web-enabled device at www.iTriageHealth.com.

Deploying the iTriage application allows Westbank Urgent Care to increase its presence in the growing mobile market by providing on-the-go access to a variety of healthcare and facility information. The free app also lets patients pre-register for their visit directly from their smartphone, alerting Westbank Urgent Care staff of their impending arrival.

Residents and visitors in Gretna and surrounding communities in the greater New Orleans area can use the interactive mobile technology of iTriage to:

• Search medical symptoms
• Learn about possible causes and treatment options
• Pre-register before arriving at Westbank Urgent Care, directly from their mobile device
• Find specific facility information like services provided, hours of operation, and turn-by-turn directions using GPS capabilities

“With more consumers relying on their smartphones to find information, it’s crucial to provide them with the resources and technology to make informed medical decisions when minor accidents and illnesses occur” said Douglas Mehaffie, M.D., Westbank Urgent Care. “Our partnership with iTriage allows us to connect with the residents and visitors in the greater New Orleans area when they need reliable healthcare information quickly.”

iTriage is changing the way consumers find, share and access healthcare information and providers, giving them the tools to take the most appropriate actions around their own healthcare. Additionally, the free application help healthcare providers connect with patients who need healthcare services at the time they need it most.

“When urgent care centers put useful medical information in the palm of their patients hands with iTriage, consumers are empowered to make informed decisions about where they will seek affordable care for their medical condition,” said Peter Hudson, M.D., CEO, Healthagen, developer of iTriage. “We live in a new world that requires patients to be more informed and responsible for their health and iTriage allows them to play a larger role in their overall healthcare.”
