"Unicorns" vs. "Zebras" on Social Impact

The unicorns, it seems, are dying out -- fast. As massive tech companies like Uber and WeWork go down in flames, the tech industry is starting to realize that the 10x model -- in which investors put their money into companies that have a low chance to succeed, in the off chance that one ends up succeeding -- might have been faulty.

But just because that investment model is looking like more risk than a reward, doesn’t mean investors are going to stop investing. Instead, we think the model is starting to shift towards companies that have a real-life impact. It’s time to stop chasing unicorns -- and start funding zebras.

“Zebras,” unlike unicorns, are real. They’re also profitable and make a social impact. And today, more than ever, companies are expected to be socially impactful.

ShareYourself members have access to financial institutions and businesses that provide grants and investments. We want to streamline the funding process for both parties. For some projects, this first grant could be the stepping stone to get more funding in the future.

ShareYourself provides project management
We created an easy-to-use project management system that even first time entrepreneurs can use. It’s also open by default. This means that investors can look through all of the tasks and milestones on any project to decide if they want to reach out and invest.
