SATO launches high-performance 10-inch wide format label printer
Singapore, 7 October 2019 - SATO, a global pioneer in the development of auto-ID and labelling solutions, announced the launch of a new wide format label printer to Asia’s automotive and manufacturing supply chain markets. The SG112-ex series has enjoyed success in the Japanese market and will now be available in Asia for the first time, offering a strong portfolio of benefits.
Designed to save operators time and improve work efficiency, the printer uses thermal transfer and direct thermal printing in continuous or tear-off operation for a wide range of applications. Replacing the SATO M10e wide format label printer, the SG112-ex brings a unique complement of real-time efficiency benefits to production workflows. The printer is highly applicable in stock management, shipping label printing and GHS labelling for chemicals.
With this printer, businesses can achieve high-volume printing more efficiently by combining larger amounts of information on to a wide format label instead of multiple smaller labels. Users enjoy shorter print time as they can now print wide format labels horizontally (in the paper travel direction) instead of vertically (transversely to travel direction). In addition, labels are visible from a greater distance, making information quicker and simpler to communicate in fast-paced production environments. Testing has shown up to 60% increase1 in process efficiency when compared to traditional 4” label print machines.
The SG112-ex also offers:
• Print speeds up to 150mm/sec & up to 266.7mm width with intelligent control for fast, consistent throughput
• Intuitive multi-language display for flexibility and practicality
• Heightened connectivity with multiple interfaces such as USB, LAN, IEEE1284 and RS-232C (9 pin)
• Labels Across function enables large quantities of labels to be printed at the same time, streamlining the workflow for greater productivity
With a print resolution of 305 dpi, the printer can print a variety of linear barcode formats quickly and reliably, including UPC-A/E, JAN/EAN, Code128, Bookland, and ISBT 128 Industrial, as well as a wide spectrum of GS1 formats. Additionally, the SG112-ex enables high quality print of 2D intelligent coding formats such as QR, MAXICode and composite symbol data.
Hayato Shindo, Head of Southeast Asia for SATO commented, "The SG112-ex is one of the largest width variable data label printers available on the market. Its width makes possible multiple cross-industry labelling applications such as e-commerce and logistics which require printer speed. It is optimised for manufacturing sites with its durable, functional design and capability to print large labels with many contents. It can even be upgraded to perform automatic label loading."
The machine benefits from the SATO All-In-One tool feature, which simplifies printer configuration and deployment, allows remote configuration of multiple units from a central location and consolidates many of the separate software utilities into one integrated application.
