Seattle speed reading student says he read 30 business books in two months

Speed reading students all over Seattle are reporting great success after taking the one-day workshop offered by the Center for Lifelong Learning. Jackie Alan Giuliano, Ph.D, leads the Center and teaches the speed reading workshops. Jackie has been teaching speed reading for almost 20 years and started the Center in 2004 to spread these important skills far and wide.

To make the $249 one-day class available to folks at all income levels, Dr. Giuliano has used http://www.Groupon.com, a "deal of the day" website to offer the class at a dramatic discount. "We really want these skills to get to everyone," Dr. Giuliano said.

Nearly every decision we make in life, whether it be about school or career, is affected by how we read. And very few people read well. The way nearly everyone is taught to read doesn't work well - hence people get sleepy while they read, lose their place, and remember very little. Our minds are capable of taking information in at tens of thousands of words per minute, yet most of us are taught to read in a way that limits us to 100 to 300 words per minute at best. No wonder people's minds wander - their brains are bored!

After 21 days of practice following the one-day speed reading workshop, it is amazing how much can change. Here's a comment from a student 3-weeks after taking the class: "Just wanted to thank you again. Since I left school to start my company almost ten years ago my reading has dropped off significantly. In the last two weeks I’ve read 3 books and remembered how much I love learning and how much taking in and new information helps me to define who I am and how I view the world.
