Only Washington state has restricted www.globalpoker.com – an online poker site. But residents of all the other 49 can, safely, enjoy online poker. And we're talking about real-money poker.

"About 15,000-to-20,000 players were winners in any given year," ESPN.com reported. "This amounted to about 10-to-12 percent of the U.S. poker base, estimated roughly at 200,000, which we defined as the number of players who play in a public cardroom two-plus times in a calendar year."

www.globalpoker.com has found a way to keep regulators happy, and customers too.

First, they were granted a licensed in Malta, which is one of the toughest licenses to get. The Maltese government also regulates the license. That seems to have made U.S. regulators happy. Having government approval from one jurisdiction, has become a stamp of approval for most of the states.

Next, they needed reduce the friction often caused when credit card processors are scared of online gaming sites. Using government approval, www.globalpoker.com was able to find credit card processors that understood they were legit. That means credit card deposits almost always work because of better payment processors.

Finally, what players care about most, they deposit payouts right into a player's bank account. No need to fiddle with bitcoin, cash out fees or other payment hassles. There is no other site doing that – direct deposit of winnings.

The site is friendly.

"Tables are full of inexperienced players," Luke Hill, columnist at Beat The Fish said. "The site easy to use, no software to install, you can play from your phone."

So how did www.globalpoker.com do it?

Their big thing is, they're running a sweepstakes model for online poker. That model them legit in almost every U.S. state, and they're growing rapidly. Likely this model will allow players to play, and regulators to be happy it's not organized crime – which was the big concern with online gaming.
