BitTubers public release

The first platform to showcase the effectiveness of an ad-free monetization is BitTubers.com. After a 3 week closed beta period it is now open for everyone.

If you are already an AirTime extension user you are good to go. You can log in to BitTubers.com with the same credentials. For newcomers creating a profile either on the extension or the platform itself will get you signed up. Your username and profile picture will be in sync. There are five membership levels designed to suit your social activity. The higher you upgrade the more post options you get. The about section is a good start for those of you who are here for the first time.

Earning from your social activity

You receive rewards for and from your engagement by default using the AirTime model. Because BitTube is an ad-free monetization there is no least views or subscribers requirement. All you need to do is verify your profile via the extension. The BitTube symbol in the left corner is the gateway to your funds' management. Access your wallet and top up your TUBE balance with a credit card, crypto or a bank transfer.

Step by step you will be able to move to the new platform. The process will be open for three months. First, you will need to sign up for a new BitTubers account. A linking option will provide access to your bit.tube wallet and import of your videos. We will take care to notify all your subscribers about your new BitTubers profile.

What happens to the bit.tube

From today we have disabled creating a new account and uploading media on the bit.tube website. The AirTime monetisation is done entirely via the AirTime extension so watching videos will get you rewards but not for the user uploaded the video.

We will shut down the site in three months. After that provided with the hash content will remain accessible via an IPFS gateway.

Development roadmap

Today we mark the milestone of releasing all the range of BitTube products for desktop. The Android version of our browser is coming this month bringing the AirTime extension on the go.

We have set the foundation for uncensorable monetisation, privacy, ad-free browsing and independence. Whether you are a content creator, publisher or a web developer now is your time to show the world what you can build with BitTube.
