Michael Management Corporation, a leader in SAP eLearning solutions, today announced that it has added final exams to each of its eLearning courses – a bold step to add measurability and accountability to the SAP training process. While most SAP training solutions award certificates based on course completion, they lack the ability to evaluate comprehension and knowledge retention – key indicators of how well students will be able to apply their increased SAP competence back into the business. To address this industry-wide shortcoming, MMC has revamped its evaluation process to include a final exam at the end of each course to ensure that a student hasn’t just completed the course, but that the individual learned what was expected.

“Final exams have always been an important part of the academic experience, yet professional development at the corporate level seems to lack that measurability and accountability – far too often, trainees are rewarded for simply completing a course with no regard for how much that person actually learned,” said Thomas Michael, Michael Management Corporation’s CEO. “Investing time and money in an SAP training regimen is important, and we felt it was time to put some measurement tools in place that both recognize the student for their success, and reassure whoever is paying for the training that their investment is worthwhile.”

Each of Michael Management Corporation’s courses is made up of several lessons. Lessons have always been followed by a brief quiz with about 10 questions. MMC’s new final exams look across all those quizzes and randomly select 40 of those questions. These exam questions are comprised of fill-in-the blank, multiple choice, true/false and matching questions. Trainees are given 80 minutes to complete the exam (no longer than two minutes per question), and must earn a score of 80% to pass the exam. Students may retake the exam as often as they like, however each exam will generate a new sampling of questions to ensure a fair testing experience; furthermore, the number of final exam attempts is also recorded.

In yet another move to build accountability into its training process, Michael Management Corporation issues a unique Certificate ID number to each individual who successfully completes a course and passes the final exam. This gives hiring managers and corporate training executives the ability to accurately track and audit an individual’s progress and successful course completions via a simple online validation process on MMC’s website that confirms completion and notes the student’s final grade.
