Los Angeles Based Philadelphia Fans Form Group to Honor Bryan Stow
Save the date. Tuesday, August 9th 2011 at The Shack in Santa Monica, California – the home of everything Philadelphia – and the night that Phillies fans pay homage to Bryan Stow, the EMT who was beaten senselessly after the San Francisco Giants played the Los Angeles Dodgers on baseball’s Opening Day 2011.
As a way to raise a voice to end senseless acts of violence at sporting events and help create a more civil fan and family friendly experience at ballparks everywhere, this fundraising event will honor Bryan Stow and his family. Formed by a passionate group of Los Angeles based Philadelphia Phillies fans, Philly – LA Has A Heart will be hosting an all night event with entertainment, music, comedy and a silent auction to raise money and help the Stow family with Bryan’s medical bills as a way to demonstrate the goodwill and charity that can happen when fans of teams from all walks of life come together to do something positive.
With the Stow’s family blessing to move forward, and with family members confirmed to attend the event, the night promises to deliver upon sportsmanship, philanthropy and good will.
And if you’re wondering why August 9th was chosen to do the fundraiser…it is a night chosen specifically because the Phillies are in town playing the Dodgers. As much as the Los Angeles based Philadelphia Phillies fans would like to go to the game and support their team in person, they feel their energy is better spent raising money for the Stow family.
It will be a great night, filled with fun, positive energy, great food and spirits, family, friends and top notch entertainment. Please join us for a very special night to honor Bryan Stow.
