DeStream platform launched at Gamescom 2019, opening tremendous new opportunities for streamers and donators
DeStream, a financial ecosystem for streamers donations, was, in full accordance with its plans, successfully launched (available English, German and Spanish) at the Gamescom 2019 exhibition today, August 20, 2019. The company’s founders Anar Mekhtiev and Tachat Igityan have jointly pressed a symbolic Big Red Button to deploy what will most probably revolutionize the way streamers receive support and gratitude from their community and followers. As the platform started functioning, DeStream Squad members were the first to test it in live mode. The amazing show started with Deagal Remyr in his well recognized Jack Sparrow outfit. And that’s when everything started spiralling! As Deagal opened his stream he was singing, playing guitar, joking… DeStream core team just couldn’t stand still, as Sofia and Max joined the stream as back vocalists.
You know, Gamescom is not some place where you can avoid fun. It comes right to you, sometimes wearing a colourful vestment of an ancient king. That’s what happened next to DeStream booth as some errant monarch arrived playing bagpipes. That incredible person appeared to be KawauTV, a popular streamer and gamer with over 86,000 followers!
Such an open personality with light, charming humor… Such a professional: Kawau joined Deagal in his stream showing a trick of simultaneously playing not one, but three pipes! We certainly hope that this is a beginning of a friendship that will last.
Natalie Moore, the strings of our team, picked from there at some moment rocking the floor Doors’ “When you’re strange”. No wonder that she was very warmly received by the audience, both online and on the stand, people were clapping, singing and — the best part — donating with the brand new DeStream platform. There were dozens of donations via the system during the opening day, we are currently putting together cross-cutting statistics and will be releasing these numbers in the coming days.
One more reason people around were all eyes and ears: Natalie’s outlook — she was cosplaying 2B, a popular character from NieR Automata. And boy she was worth seeing in person!
Everything looked very smooth and easy, however, today’s deployment is a result of more than two years of DeStream teamwork from a blueprint in mid-2017 though hours and hours of blockchain programming, sophisticated back-end development and multiple API integrations to create a system that will bring back the emotional component of streamers donations and radically reduce transaction costs several-fold to 0.77%.
“We are thrilled to finally uncover the product we’ve been building for the last two years. Today’s release fully confirms our expectations, as the audience was excited to see DeStream platform up and running. Clearly, we come to fill an empty niche and to deliver something that the community of content creators desired,” DeStream CEO and founder Anar Mekhtiev said.
“This is clearly just the first step in a line of many great achievements DeStream in set to produce in coming months and even weeks. We have lined up an impressive array of strategic partnerships, product updates and promotional activities. Thus, our celebration today is not the end of the company’s journey, on the contrary, we are out of a stealth mode and feel ready [to kick some ass] to disrupt the $1bn streaming industry,” DeStream CFO and founder Tachar Igityan added.
DeStream will be launching its platform for the unlimited use in coming September.

About DeStream
DeStream is a financial platform that aims to disrupt the streaming industry and bring back the emotional component of viewers’ donations to streamers and content creators. Currently, high commissions and limited donation mechanics have diluted value of donations for streamers and bloggers. DeStream intends to cut total transaction costs to only 0.77%.
DeStream’s blockchain-based solution positions the company as a transparent intermediary for this market and lead the industry to its roots when both content producers and consumers received true strong emotions while interacting. A wide variety of IoT technologies employed by DeStream will enable multiple visual effects in the streamer’s studio, manage light and sound, fire confetti, or treat the streamer with a real, not gif-picture, cup of coffee.
DeStream was founded in 2017 by Anar Mekhtiev, Tachat Igityan, Alexey Khvostenko, and Rafael Manvelyan, its headquarters is located in Tallinn, Estonia. DeStream team combines professionals in many regional markets, including Estonia, Cyprus, Hungary, Russia, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
The company is actively involved in gaming and streaming industry across the globe. In July 2018 it has partnered with Elements Pro Gaming, a multi-league organization that includes professional teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DotA2, and League of Legends. In October 2018 DeStream has signed an agreement with Axeso5, the most significant game publisher in Latin America with over 14 million active gamers across the publishing platform.
In 1Q19 DeStream has launched its own eSports tournament platform uniting many players in multiplayer and solo disciplines like Fortnite, DotA 2 and CS:GO. There were several tournaments held under the company’s patronship including DeStream AutoChess and DeStream Fortnite Summer Cup.
DeStream uses its internal currency, DST, which can be convertible through crypto exchanges and in-house exchange. DST is to fuel operations within the ecosystem, namely, to facilitate purchases at the DeStream marketplace where goods and services from the company’s partners are to be offered. DST token is listed with Midex cryptocurrency exchange.
The project has received solid acclaim on multiple industry forums and events that include Blockchain Expo Global in London, Crypto Forum for Hotcoins in Seoul, Blockchain Expo Europe in Amsterdam, and Block O2O Summit in Hong Kong.
