Press release from: Queen Gallery

Bahram Dabiri is a true artist. He understands balance and knows how to reach the limits and also how to pass them. He blends these all together. He has been playing with light and colour for years, but the unique essence of his specialty is in his constant search to comprehend new phenomena and to use them in the creation of new and different pieces of work. With a full head, Dabiri pays attention to detail thereby creating a totality of art in which love, beauty, and finesse are all present. Bahram Dabiri is an artist of today that carries with him a world of past art cultures. He is sincere, frank, and extremely proud. He says, “One has to be pure, unadulterated, and distinguished.” – Taraneh Yaldah

Queen Gallery presents the work of contemporary artists from Toronto and around the world. A recent addition to the Queen East community, our exhibitions are driven by a comparative exploration of art and culture in an interdisciplinary setting. Housed in a refurbished brownstone, this distinctive space is a forum where the boundaries of media are greeted, embraced and even challenged.

Queen Gallery Presents: Degenerate Art, a Solo Exhibition by Oscar Wolfman
ENTARTETE KUNST was the name given by the Nazis to all modern art that was critical to their politics, abstract, or produced by Jewish and/or gay artists.  Ironically, by presenting exhibitions of this art, they exposed it to many people who would have never seen or thought of it. Many artists choose not to name their work, in which case “untitled” (with a number denoting its chronology in the artist’s oeuvre)
