History of the Panton Chair
Verner PANTON and Vitra - a productive alliance, which brought with the Panton Chair Classic the first plastic cantilever chair made of one piece on the market in 1967. 32 years later - meanwhile the technological development was as advanced that plastic could be colorize - the company Vitra brought out the Panton Chair. This is the last design personally authorized by Verner Panton, according to the manufacturer. The Panton Chair is made of the material polypropylene. Hence it can be offered at an affordable price (205 €). At irregular intervals, Vitra brings out a special edition of Panton Chairs on the market. This special color, 2011 in Dark Lime, is produced in limited edition, is popular with collectors and for that sold out very quickly. Only authorized Vitra dealers such as TAGWERC sell this certified original.
