Pervaiz Ahmed appointed CEO of Pak-Qatar Family Takaful

Mr. P. Ahmed has joined Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited, Pakistan as its Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Ahmed brings with him a very rich experience of Life Insurance Operations, Sales and Marketing to this position. He has worked in various senior positions in Governmental, Pakistani and Multinational insurance companies. He is an MBA and Fellow of Life Management Institute. He has also worked as a management consultant in Pakistan and the Middle East.

Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited is an Islamic Life Insurance Company which is in the process of launching its operations in Pakistan. Its shareholders include H.E. Sh. Ali Bin Abdullah Al Thani (member of the Royal Family of the State of Qatar), Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), Qatar Islamic Insurance Company (QIIC), and other Qatari and Pakistani sponsors. QIIB's assets as on 31st December 2006 are US$2.31 billion while shareholders equity stands as US$392.28 million. QIIC is the pioneer of Islamic Insurance in Qatar whose shareholders equity stands US$65 million as at 31st December 2006.
